Harrington House Anna Maria Island
How can you not love a place that serves buttermilk pancake sundaes for breakfast? Of course, you’ll fall for more than sweet beginnings at the Harrington House. At this collection of four homes on Anna Maria Island off of Florida’s Southwest coast, you’ll adore the array of rooms and suites, tropical gardens and direct access to Gulf beaches (not to mention the beachy-chic and quaint surroundings on Anna Maria Island).
You’ll fall for: Rooms with a view – ask for a balcony to witness breathtaking Gulf sunsets.
As America’s oldest continuously settled European city, St. Augustine boasts plenty of charming B&Bs, including this 1893 Victorian in the heart of the historic district. Seven guest rooms and suites are decked with handsome antiques and Floridian styling; some have whirlpool tubs and private balconies overlooking the neatly tended grounds.

A favorite roost of honeymooners, this sumptuously furnished 1910 mansion sits just a couple of blocks from Tampa Bay, and an easy walk to downtown St. Petersburg’s wealth of restaurants and galleries. Most of the smartly decorated rooms contain double whirlpool tubs, and some feature canopied four-poster beds.

All this happens at the McKenzie House, an 1895 Queen Anne (the inn also includes a second multi-room guest house, cottages and a carriage house). The complex fits right into the surrounding historic district, which offers museums, dining and a theater.
