How do you get reservations at some of Florida's hippest restaurants? Read on!

Here's one of my favorite tricks. No more calling around to restaurants any longer. I use OpenTable.com, an online reservation service, to get my tables--or even to find out if tables are available.

Here's how it works: Go to the first page of OpenTable.com. Find Florida and the city of your choice (if you choose "See Other Florida Cities," you'll see the extensive list they have here). Select your location, your cuisine of choice OR, if you know the name, select the name of the restaurant you want to go to. Then plug in the date, time and party size. Click "Find a Table." The system comes back with available reservation times--exact time, earlier times and later times. Click on the time that works for you, then proceed with your contact information to complete the reservation.

OpenTable is connected directly to the restaurants' reservation systems, so the information is current. Your reservation goes straight into the system.

All you have to do now is show up and enjoy the meal. Bon appetit.
