One of the best ways to explore Delray Beach is by boat. Whether you choose a yacht cruise or a private vessel, the magic of Delray Beach is just a boat ride away.
Lady Atlantic – Delray Yacht Cruises
Anchored in elegance on the northwest side of the Atlantic Avenue Bridge in Delray Beach is the Lady Atlantic. This classically equipped, 105-foot vessel is a great opportunity to see Delray Beach from the Intracoastal Waterway.
Lady Atlantic is owned by Captain Joe and Kerry Reardon, transplants from Cape Cod who brought their love of boating to Delray Beach in 2003. Kerry’s sister, Meghan Christian, is vice president of their venture, which provides a variety of customized and fun-filled cruises. Among the most popular are the Jimmy Buffet-style Margaritaville cruise with live music (ideal for a girls’ night out), a golf-themed cruise, a sunset cruise, and many others. While cruising, enjoying an impressive entertainment system, a full Tiki bar, inviting menus and many other amenities, all provided by a friendly and capable crew.
Even with the global economic downturn, Lady Atlantic continues to be an easily affordable, two-hour cruise filled with historical information and sites, plus the breathtaking beauty of the area.
You will meet a bit of history as you cruise past Atlantic Avenue. The first bridge in Delray was built in 1911. Prior to the bridge, early beach-goers crossed “the canal,” now the Intracoastal Waterway, by lighter barge. Our Lady Atlantic is based at the present Atlantic Avenue Bridge.
With Captain Joe at the helm, Lady Atlantic begins its cruise through the passageway of the Bridge Tender House, originally constructed in 1952 and redesigned in 1991 by local architect Robert Currie. Be sure to notice the pineapple at the top of the Bridge Tender House – that is the welcoming sign to Delray Beach!
Immediately after passing the Bridge Tender, look to starboard (right side) to see the Boyd Building, designed in Art Moderne style by Gustave Maas in 1939. The 1940 Anchorage Building, a joint collaborative design of Gustave Maas and Sam Ogren, Sr., Delray Beach’s first registered architect, next comes into view to starboard. The Marina Historic District, established in the late 1980s, and the City Marina, established in the 1920s, also are viewed from the right side of Lady Atlantic.
After you take in Captain Joe’s historical tour, relax with a cold drink and the view of beautiful homes and boats.

Delray Boat Club – Intracoastal/Ocean Boat Rentals and Charters
While attending Florida’s Lynn University, Alex Warner’s passion for sea life surged. After graduating from Lynn, he returned to his native New York to work at the New York Stock Exchange.
But his love of the water and Delray Beach could not be ignored. Alex returned to Florida and established the Delray Boat Club, which provides other boating aficionados an affordable alternative to boat ownership.
Delray Boat Club is located at the George Bush Bridge on the southwest side at the Delray Beach Marina. The Boat Club offers fishing charters, water skiing, snorkeling, diving and wake boarding (an enticement for kids), all part of the Intracoastal activities that Delray Boat Club will customize.
With his 23- and 25-foot vessels, Alex is creative and flexible for those who desire a nature tour or simply a relaxing cruise up to Palm Beach. Cruisers can stop and explore at sand bars and reefs or enjoy some dockside dining along the way. Any Delray Boat Club Intracoastal or ocean experience can be arranged to suit your plans and schedule.
Alex Warner and his Delray Boat Club provide family and friends with another way to see not only Delray Beach, but to any number of other adventures while customizing your boating experience.
