A small town on the Big Bend, Steinhatchee is known for its abundant fishing opportunities.
Spanish moss tumbles down from the cypress and cedar trees along the Steinhatchee River and egrets coast over the placid water. Hundreds of miles of moss-draped country roads and bike trails invite contemplative drives and adventurous explorations.
The city of Steinhatchee is a complacent fishing community which has retained its pristine natural surroundings and serenity for over a century. The Steinhatchee River is renowned for its surplus of trout and redfish, as the river's uncongested waters challenge the most skilled anglers. The river also has a deep water port adequate for larger vessels and off-shore fishing excursions.
Steinhatchee combines the ambience of the 19th century with the conveniences of the 20th. Victorian waterfront homes line the shores and footpaths and gardens sequester the surroundings. Steinhatchee is often referred to as "The Best Kept Secret in Florida."

Our local newspaper has been advertising the chance to win a trip to Taylor County for days now, but I find nothing on your website or it's connected links that mentions it or a way to enter...can you help? My husband just defied death in late March (he actually died in the ambulance!) We could really use a stroke of luck, like a vacation. The hospital bills exceeded 150K so we aren't able to even afford the local lake at this point...Florida would be AMAZING and do him a world of good! Please reply, as I would like to at least try to win a trip for us (him). Thank You...Jodie Popps
