A vacation in central Florida warrants a trip to Sebring, a small town with natural beauty.
Sebring is nestled among the rolling hills of Central Florida's scenic ridge, surrounded by freshwater lakes, lofty pines and orange groves, neighboring Lake Placid and Avon Park.
The city was founded in 1912 by George E. Sebring and has grown into a vibrant and charming community. About eighty percent of Sebring is natural streams, lakes, and orange groves and the other twenty percent is mainly residential developments. This makes for a pleasant and scenic setting for Sebring's residents, and a perfect scenario for a natural Florida vacation.
The combination of hills and lakes creates a mild climate with about one-half the average humidity of Florida's coastal cities. The weather is perfect for an afternoon stroll through the historic downtown area around the beautifully landscaped circle park. After walking through the downtown area, visit nearby Lake Placid for a closer investigation of central Florida's scenic ridge and 43 murals, all of which tell the story of the town's history.
Sebring's array of scenic lakes, championship golf courses, parks, recreational activities and affordability make it a perfect stop on a vacation to Central Florida.
