New Port Richey offers the tranquility of nature and the warmth of Florida's Gulf beaches.

New Port Richey is bordered by cattle and horse ranches to the east and Gulf waters to the west. A scenic boat ride through the foliage and wildlife of the Cotee river brings you through the city of New Port Richey and out to the glistening Gulf waters, perfect for snorkeling, scuba diving, boating and fishing.

The Cotee River, once a retreat for silent film-era movie stars, offers exciting tours through its enchanting jungle areas, replete with alligators and parakeets. West Pasco County has a number of well-kept recreational areas that provide entertainment for all ages, including ballfields, playgrounds, jogging, cycling and swimming.

There are a number of festivals in the New Port Richey area that offer a healthy mixture of entertainment and cultural history. The most well known festival is the Chasco Fiesta, first held in 1922. The local postmaster penned a legend describing the capture of a Spanish expedition by a Calusa Indian tribe to give the festival a theme. The beautiful Pithlachascotee River loaned its name to Queen Chasco and her consort, King Pithla, providing the event with royalty, and a West Pasco tradition was born. Today the event offers a combination of fun, food, and entertainment with a Native American Pow Wow, premier street & boat parades, carnival and much more. If you are looking for family fun and heritage this festival held in March each year honoring tribes from as far away as Mexico and Oklahoma is not to be missed!

New Port Richey is a prospering business community complemented by the area's natural beauty, culture, and bountiful activities.

It's a lovely place, but the shops in Downtown NPR are horribly overpriced. Except for the optical shop. The doc there is uber fair. But, if you want deals, there are a load of mom and pop shops you just have to look a little bit for.
