What many visitors think of when they think of Orlando is actually Lake Buena Vista - Disney's theme parks all call this Orlando suburb their home. Visitors from around the world flock to this destination to experience the magic that is Disney in the form of Animal Kingdom, EPCOT, MGM Studios, and the park that started it all - the Magic Kingdom. The entertainment in Lake Buena Vista doesn't end at Disney's gates, however. Guests will find everything from dining to shopping to sleeping qualify as amusements in this town. Restaurants with delectable cuisine from around the world can be found both inside and outside the area's theme parks. And it is not difficult to find the special brand of dining entertainment known as dinner theater to delight young and old with shows, music, comedy, dancing and even medieval jousting as you eat.
As soon as you arrive at Lake Buena Vista, you'll have no doubt you're in the heart of the world's playground - the opportunities for enjoyment are endless.
Shopping excursions take on a whole different flavor at places like Downtown Disney. This entertainment, dining and shopping complex has something fun for everyone.
Not to be left out, other accommodations do their best to fit in with the spirit of nearby attractions. Hotels and resorts often have themes that in most other places would encompass a complete vacation in themselves. Many provide free shuttle transportation to area attractions.
