Of the 19 miles of beach in Flagler County, six comprise the shore of Flagler Beach with rich coquina sand and spectacular surf.
And speaking of surf, Flagler Beach boasts the third largest break in Florida and are the annual host of the Tommy Tant Memorial Surf Classic every fall. The 806-foot-long pier, the Flagler Beach Municipal Pier, is a fisherman’s dream with plenty of space to drop your line and a bait shop conveniently placed at the entrance. Fresh and brackish water fishing abounds as well off the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway and in many of our preserves and lakes.
Just across from the beach are quaint beachside shops and stores featuring beach themed treats and novelties for all to enjoy. Unique beachside restaurants are scattered throughout Flagler Beach with breathtaking views to enjoy and meals prepared with fresh local flavors to savor.
A special treat for residents and visitors alike are the First Friday festivities, occurring every first Friday of the month, with live music, dancing and more. Local fruits, vegetables and gifts can be found at the Flagler Beach Farmers Market every Friday and Saturday morning.
Take a hike and get outside to enjoy the unique coastal ecosystems in Flagler Beach. There are a variety of parks and preserves to choose from including Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area. This Florida State Park features oceanfront camping, nature trails and a half-mile stretch of stunning beaches.
Bulow Plantation Ruins State Park is also part of the GFBT and is listed on the National Register of Historic Sites. Come take a scenic hike through ruins of the former plantation including a sugar mill, and visit the outdoor museum with artifacts from the Plantation Era and pictorial representations of the structure.
