Trendy, chic Coconut Grove just outside Miami offers big city cultural attractions.

Trendy Coconut Grove, just five miles south of downtown Miami, is one of those chic South Florida areas to see and be seen. Located on Biscayne Bay, this upscale community offers culture, the arts, unique shopping, and fine dining. Accommodations are among the most deluxe you will find anywhere and local fare ranges from gourmet to budget, the latter not lacking character for its economy.

Those visiting Coconut Grove will never be lacking something to do. Activities abound to fit every taste and style. History buffs will want to be sure to visit the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, an Italian Renaissance-style villa featuring 19th-century antique furnishings and decorative arts, as well as the Barnacle Historic State Park, which contains the oldest home in Dade County in its original location.
Aspiring scientists and other curious folk will be sure to enjoy the Miami Science Museum. This museum highlights numerous scientific exhibitions and educational programs throughout the year while the planetarium features star shows and multimedia extravaganzas sure to dazzle all who witness them. Shopaholics can find all they are looking for and more in the Coconut Grove Shopping District while being entertained by street performers.

Of course, with the ideal climate that is typical of the area, visitors can simply bask in the Florida sunshine while hanging out in a local waterfront park. Outdoor festivals are also held throughout the year, such as the Taste of the Grove and the Great Grove Bed Race, South Florida's largest culinary and music extravaganza, or the Coconut Grove Arts Festival which showcases the works of renowned artists from around the world. Both of these events, as well as many others, are held annually.
