Whether you need a break from the road or you're just looking for some fun, these playgrounds and parks are conveniently located and offer an abundant and unique variety of options.

You’ve answered, “Are we there yet?” a dozen times… but you’re not. When it’s time for the kids to get their wiggles out, check out one of these playgrounds – conveniently located near major highways – for a road-trip reprieve.

North Florida

Project SWING, St. Augustine
(Exit 311, 15 mins. from I-95)
A wooden pirate ship, rocket and lighthouse make for 23,000 square feet of fun, while a single exit point lets parents rest easy.

Felburn Foundation Boundless Playground, Tallahassee Area
(Exit 199, 15 mins. from I-10)
Thanks to ramps and high-backed swings, this playground is accessible for all children. It’s located at the Wakulla Station Trailhead of the Tallahassee-St. Marks Historic Railroad State Trail.

Central Florida

Sand Point Park, Titusville
(Exit 220, 5 mins. from I-95)
With views of Kennedy Space Center, skateboard ramps and an astronaut memorial, the playground is just the beginning of this park’s broad appeal.

Sun Splash Park, Daytona Beach
(Exit  261, 15 mins. from I-95)
The only thing better than a great playground is a great playground with shade. Sun Splash has all that plus an interactive water-play area.

Lake Eola Park, Orlando
(Exit 83A, 5 mins from I-4)
Set amidst the downtown skyline, this playground is made even more magical by the swan-shaped paddle boats for rent.

South Florida

Bayfront Park, Sarasota
(Exit 210, 15 mins. from I-75)
If you can drag the kids away from the water playground, check out the dolphin fountain and the yachts docked in the marina.

Sugar Sand Park, Boca Raton
(Exit 44, 5 mins. from I-95)
As if the three-story Science Playground weren’t enough, this park also has its own carousel.

ArtsPark at Young Circle, Hollywood
(Exit 20, 5 mins. from I-95)
On your way to the rope webs and spinning saucers, you might catch a concert or festival underway near the towering baobab tree.
