Lake City, in Columbia County, was originally the Seminole village named Alpata Telophka. The town changed its name in 1859. Its natural attractions and histortic events such as the Olustee Battle Festival and Reenactment attract visitors.

The 60th Annual Folk Festival starts tonight at Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park. We're pleased to announce that we will be tweeting event updates and photos LIVE from the festival tomorrow from 10am until 2pm. If you're at the festival, watch for our hourly tweets.
