Be sure to look in your June utility bill for a Flood Zone Guide indicating the updated flood zone map for Pinellas County and our annual Hurricane Guide with tips on how to prepare for a tropical storm or a hurricane. Here, city staff was given a demonstration on the city’s “water pillows” – giant water balloons type storage containers to be used for residents to obtain fresh water in the event of a storm. These “pillows” would be strategically located at various locations around the city for water distribution. The city would fill the pillows using a sanitized water truck. May 23, 2012 |
