In addition to following Coast Guard-approved safe boating guidelines, boaters should be on the lookout for dolphins, manatees and sea turtles and avoid interactions with them. If you’re lucky enough to spot these animals while out on the water, it’s also important to follow a few responsible viewing tips: • It’s best to view wildlife from at least 100 feet away. Coming any closer may disrupt the animals’ natural behaviors. Dolphins, manatees and sea turtles are federally protected and it is illegal to harm or harass them — including things like feeding dolphins or watering manatees. • Be sure to stow line and other garbage in a closed container until you can throw it away onshore. • On beaches it is important to shield visible lights at night during sea turtle nesting season. Before leaving the beach, make sure to fill in any holes and take all your trash with you. May 23, 2012 |

He also taught me to be physically strong and build muscles and take care of myself. He'd say you will "One day thank me," and he was right. He said to be a leader, not a follower, treat people with respect, and accept that we live in a world were people will spread rumors and be unkind at times, and that I should always be graceful and hold my head up high. He's say "Don't sink to other people's level when that happens." He was right about everything and I could not be more proud to be his daughter. I love you Dad!
